8. Select your foods sensibly. The more unprocessed the food is the better. Processed foods comprise white bread, chips, biscuits, etc. Whole foods are the ideal, if your finances allows them. Garden-fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, whole grain pastas and bread are decent offerings. This will keep a tight rein on the amount of preservatives, artificial flavorings, fat and sugar thrown into your meals.

9. Take time to prepare your meal. This method will give you substantial savings and you can have total control to what you put in to your dishes.

10. Perform strength training three times a week. This will maintain your metabolism and shape your body.
